Landau: Mehr Bäume für den Horst – Stadt rüstet sich für heiße Sommer

Der Landauer Stadtteil Horst soll grüner und klimaresistenter werden. In mehreren Straßen entstehen 13 neue Baumbeete, zudem werden 19 bestehende Standorte in der Helmbachstraße vergrößert. Die größeren Flächen bieten den Bäumen mehr Platz zum Wachsen, verbessern die Regenwasserspeicherung und entlasten die Kanalisation.

Die Arbeiten starten noch in diesem Jahr, die Pflanzungen folgen im Winter. Insgesamt investiert die Stadt rund 370.000 Euro, 90 Prozent davon trägt der Bund über das Förderprogramm „Natürlicher Klimaschutz in Kommunen“.
