Edelkastanien-Saatgut aus Birkweiler für den Umbau des Waldes

700 Kilo Saatgut, um dem Klimawandel zu trotzen. Das Forstamt Haardt hat bei Birkweiler Früchte der Edelkastanie gesammelt. Darüber berichtet die Lokalpresse. Aus dem Saatgut können dann ungefähr 9.000 junge Edelkastanienpflanzen in der Baumschule angezogen werden, wird der Pressesprecher des Forstamts Mario Biwer zitiert. Die Edelkastanie gelte als wärmeliebend und sei so für den Umbau des Waldes bestens geeignet.
