Beim Neujahrstreffen der Ortsgruppe Gimmeldingen des Pfälzerwald-Vereins sind die eifrigsten Wanderer der Vorjahre geehrt worden. Spitzenreiter im Jahr 2022 war Karlheinz Schäker mit 32 Wanderungen. Für ihre Lebenswanderleistung wurden Walter Gutfrucht mit 600 Wanderungen sowie Ewald Metzger mit 102 Wanderungen gewürdigt.
