Der Imkerverband Rheinland-Pfalz ist besorgt über eine wachsende Verbreitung der Asiatischen Hornissen. Seit Herbst gebe es stellenweise massiven Beflug durch die invasive Art, sagte der Vorsitzende Thomas Hock bei einer Konferenz in Neustadt. Julia Weidt aus der ANTENNE-Nachrichtenredaktion:
